Elle was born in Seattle, Washington on September 5, 1975. She spent her first 7 years in Kirkland, Washington. Her dad worked at the General Accounting Office in Seattle, and her mom stayed home, and player with her and her brother, Paul, who is 4 years younger. In 1982, Elle and her family moved to Huntington Beach, California so her dad could work for a non-profit called Wycliffe Bible Translators. They lived there until 1986 when her dad's job moved them back to Kirkland for 2 years. Finally Elle and her family moved to Vancouver, Washington where Elle graduated from Mountain View High School. Elle attended the University of Washington from 1993-1996 and graduated with a bachelors in Philosophy. During this time she worked for Innervisions Posters and Framing, selling posters and helping do frame design and layout. After graduation, Elle started working at Starwave, doing HTML layout and copy editing. At Starwave she learned both programming and program management skills, and ended up working on sites for Disney, ESPN, as well as projects in advance development. In 1998, when Starwave was sold, Elle moved to Microsoft to work on Visual Java. Since then she has worked on Windows Update, NGSCB (formerly Palladium) and now works on a team driving security into products across Microsoft. Elle started dating Matty on December 8, 2001 after running into him at Santarchy. She married him on July 8, 2004 in Zermatt, Switzerland. They currently live in Greenlake, a neighborhood in Seattle. Elle has gone through many hobbys over the year, including motorcycling, hiking, snowboarding, ice climbing. She is active in the burningman community, and is generally a freak :)
